The Power of Music in Times of Loss

Why an album with the title “Help for the Hurting”? The men of Goodly Heritage love music. We have chosen to give our lives in service to others through the ministries of our local churches. Each of us desires to walk a path that exemplifies the life of Christ, walking slowly through the crowd and never missing an opportunity to help.

Sometimes that path leads through a dark and trying valley. Thankfully, each man has chosen to keep his eyes on Jesus through those difficult times. This album was produced with the intent to be a beacon of light through the storms of life. As the songs were selected for this album, many were specifically chosen because of the influence and impact they had on us during our storms.

We pray that, as these words in song have ministered to us through the years, they will once again minister to the hurting for years to come. Please take a few minutes to watch this short film, in which Austin Merriott and Daniel Hudson share their thoughts on the power of music. As young men, they each walked through the valley of watching their mothers pass away.
