“In the Garden” has been a special song to me since I was a teenager. I had the privilege of leading the singing at a nursing home for a few years, and I quickly discovered that it was a favorite of many residents there, so they would sing the whole song from memory. We sang it every week.
After recording it for this album, my dad told me that he remembered hearing my grandma singing it all the time as she cooked, cleaned, and especially while she worked in her garden.
I love the reminder that our Lord desires a personal relationship with me, and that He will happily meet me in the garden daily, to walk with me and talk with me. I pray that it will encourage you as well.
